Johna grew up in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. For her undergraduate studies, she majored in Neuroscience at Middlebury College in Vermont. She loved skiing and trail running all across the Green Mountains of Vermont during college, so after she graduated, she moved to Denver to be closer to the amazing trails and better (less icy) skiing in the Rocky Mountains. She pursued a Master's degree in Modern Human Anatomy at the University of Colorado where she conducted research on improving outcomes for patients after total knee arthroplasty. Inspired by the physical therapists she worked with while in graduate school, she went on to CU's Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Since graduating, she has worked in outpatient orthopedic settings in Denver and Summit County, helping people get back to doing the activities they are passionate about. She enjoys treating running and sports-related injuries as well as post-operative patients. In her free time, Johna is usually found outside running ultramarathons, ski mountaineering, or climbing mountains although occasionally she is found inside hanging out with her big fluffy cat named Mogul.
