SafeFit® is currently available to employees of the Town of Avon, Town of Vail, Eagle County Government, The Sonnenalp Resort, and Gallegos Masonry. Employees are being offered on-site seminars focused on injury prevention and Q&A. Vail Health partners with these employers offering a different format of the SafeFit program, targeting wellness improvement for a larger audience. What Is SafeFit?

SafeFit® Employee Wellness is a musculoskeletal wellness program provided by Howard Head Sports Medicine to local employers, designed to keep their employees active, healthy, and working, through early intervention, injury screens, education, treatment, and exercise prescription. This voluntary program is 100% free to employees, and designed to provide a valuable employee benefit, improve the employee’s physical health, mitigate workers compensation risk, and reduce healthcare costs. SafeFit® is provided by Howard Head Sports Medicine’s ownTherapists at multiple locations throughout Eagle and Summit counties.

Who can use SafeFit, has SafeFit benefits?
SafeFit® is available to employers who have contracted with Vail Health to provide the program as part of the employee benefit package. Contact your Human Resources department to see if your employer is part of the SafeFit® program. 

How do appointments work?
Employees of the Town of Avon, Town of Vail, Eagle County Government, The Sonnenalp, and Gallegos can contact your HR department to schedule appointments. 

How many times can I see a therapist?
There is not a specific limit to the number of visits allowed. The therapist will determine what is appropriate on a case-by-case basis. 

What can I be seen for?
Employees can make a SafeFit® appointment for a variety of musculoskeletal problems involving such as a recent knee injury, back pain, chronic or fresh sport injuries, overuse injuries or even general fitness programs.

Refer to your HR department regarding appropriateness for Worker’s Compensation injuries. SafeFit® is not appropriate for more severe injuries requiring physician or surgical consult, post-surgical rehab, or rehab for severe injuries such as fractures, head injuries, etc. For a full inclusion / exclusion list, please refer to the appropriate website.
