Malia is a licensed physical therapist who specializes in sports-based and pelvic floor rehabilitation. Malia completed her undergraduate degree in Biology from Humboldt State University and then received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in San Diego. In addition to her conventional medical training, she has been a yoga instructor since 2011, with continued training through mentors locally and abroad. Malia is active in the field of sports performance, training competitors in action sports, as well as professional field athletes through EXOS in Los Angeles where she earned her Performance Specialist Certification (XPS) in 2018. Born and raised in Hawaii, Malia has worked extensively with competitive surfers and other professional ocean athletes and regularly travels to Hawaii to provide physical therapy coverage. Malia is also trained as a pelvic floor physical therapist, completing coursework through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Institute. She has a special interest in pre and postpartum and return to sport.
