McKinley has had a love for Colorado from the very beginning. Born in Atlanta, GA she spent her school breaks skiing in the Vail Valley with her family, which  sparked her interest in attending Colorado College for her undergraduate.   Before receiving her Doctorate degree at University of Montana in 2007, she worked at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, and taught adaptive skiing in Breckenridge for several seasons.  It was during this time when she gained much respect for physical therapists becoming a Howard Head patient herself  injuring her knee while skiing. She was fortunate to  complete her final outpatient rotation at the Vail clinic in 2010.  She has recently returned back to the valley after living in Charlottesville, VA for nine years working in an acute care setting treating an array of complex patients, ranging from the trauma ICUs to post-op orthopedics.  She is excited to transition back into an outpatient setting and work with patients who strive to return to an active lifestyle.  McKinley enjoys tele-skiing, hiking, teaching/taking pure barre, and spending time with her husband, five year old son, and four year old daughter.
