Devyn naci\u00f3 y creci\u00f3 en Cincinnati, Ohio, y asisti\u00f3 a la Universidad de Saint Louis en Missouri para sus estudios de pregrado y posgrado, donde obtuvo su doctorado en Fisioterapia. Luego complet\u00f3 un programa de residencia deportiva en el Centro M\u00e9dico de la Universidad de Pittsburgh, donde trabaj\u00f3 un a\u00f1o con los Pittsburgh Steelers y comenz\u00f3 su formaci\u00f3n en rehabilitaci\u00f3n de conmociones cerebrales.
