This position plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive psychiatric care to adults who require intensive treatment and support. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and their families by delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care.<\/p>\n<p>This position is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental and physical aspects of psychological problems for patients within the unit. The psychiatrist will conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results on patients. The psychiatrist will also participate as a fully integrated and embedded treatment team member for all clinical consultation, treatment planning, team meetings, family meetings, and discharge planning\/execution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lo que har\u00e1s:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Evaluates patients by interviewing patient, family, and other necessary collateral persons; conducting physical examinations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; selecting, administering, and interpreting medical and psychological tests; and ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results. Formulate accurate diagnoses based on clinical assessment and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.<\/li>\n<li>Position is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive clinical programming, treatment planning, and\/or curriculum development. Position will ensure all service delivery is evidence-based and aligned with all state, local, federal, and regulatory requirements. This includes treating patients by utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications; discussing progress toward goals with patients; providing instructions; monitoring effects of medications.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Prescribe medication that can alter chemical imbalances affecting the patient\u2019s state of mind and behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Engage in active on-call rotation to ensure timely consultation and intervention for urgent psychiatric issues. This includes responding to after-hours calls from nursing staff or other providers regarding patient emergencies or concerns, and may require in-person call coverage. Provide guidance and support to on-call staff and assist in decision-making for critical patient care situations.<\/li>\n<li>Support UM\/UR, insurance authorization, and other patient financial resources as needed, such as through engagement of peer to peer, doc to doc, or compiling documentation support.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate closely with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>As appropriate, consult with external providers, schools, and community agencies to coordinate aftercare plans and support transitions.<\/li>\n<li>Provides consultation and clinical training to staff members on various medical and behavioral health subjects to include medication management and psychiatric evaluations<\/li>\n<li>Sirve como un recurso colaborativo y experto psiqui\u00e1trico en todo el sistema Vail Health, apoyando a otras l\u00edneas de servicio seg\u00fan corresponda.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Serves as a liaison with other psychiatric staff and consultants and provides coverage for those persons<\/li>\n<li>This position will maintain a comprehensive caseload that is based on facility need and may vary based on patient census.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The psychiatrist will be expected to be on site and actively engaged in direct patient care and collaborative care throughout their identified shift.
